“All roads lead to Rome,” or so they say. In a way, this means you have to visit Italy’s capital if you like traveling, or Europe. Rome is a city full of history, and there are just too many places to see, however time is not always generous. This top 5 destinations to see in Rome will come in handy if you don’t have too much time to visit, however you better plan a longer visit, or more trips to see other places too.

Saint Peter’s Basilica
This is the place where the first Christian church was built by Saint Peter. All Christians should go see it. Being close to Pope’s residence, you might also have a glimpse of him. The basilica dates back to the 16th century.

Basilica of St John Lateran
This basilica also dates back to the 16th century. This is Pope’s official ecclesiastical seat and it receives thousands of visitors every year. While the previous basilica is inside the Vatican city, this one is outside it.

This ancient Roman amphitheatre is easy to recognize and it is basically a synonym to Rome. It is the largest amphitheatre ever built by the Romans, and countless tourists come see it up close every day.
